What patients appreciate most about Chris is his warm and easy-going nature. He takes the time to listen, is easy to talk to and wants people to feel comfortable sharing what is really worrying them. He believes good family medicine is about understanding the whole person, not just treating a symptom.

Outside the clinic, Chris enjoys staying active and spending time with his family. He is also very connected to his local community and has a genuine love for family medicine.

Chris wants every patient to feel comfortable being themselves, knowing they have a doctor who will listen, understand and be there to help.

Petrina Couper

Practice Manager

  • English

With more than 25 years in healthcare, including many years in practice and healthcare management, Petrina brings a wealth of experience in building strong teams, developing healthcare services and creating systems that make a real difference to patients and the people who care for them.

For Petrina, good healthcare is about much more than what happens in the consulting room. It is about the whole experience, from making an appointment and being welcomed at reception to knowing what happens next and feeling supported along the way.

She believes that everyone who walks into a medical centre deserves to feel welcomed, listened to and cared for, especially when they may be worried, unwell or simply unsure about what comes next. Her philosophy is to treat people, not just patients.

At Newa, Petrina looks after the people and the little details that make a big difference. She supports our team, helps patients feel at ease and makes sure no one feels they have to navigate their healthcare journey alone.

She hopes to make Newa a place you and your family feel comfortable coming back to, knowing there will always be someone here who knows you, listens to you and is happy to help.
